Required Employer Poster for Coronavirus Response Act Issued

On March 18, 2020, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act was signed into law which provides certain employees with emergency paid sick leave and emergency Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) leave. One of the provisions under the Act requires covered employers to post a required notice to employees, informing them of the Act’s provisions. Yesterday, the United States Department of Labor issued the required notices—one for private employers with fewer than 500 employees, found here, and one for federal workers, found here.

The notices are free and can be downloaded from the Department of Labor website. The notice is required to be posted in a conspicuous location no later than April 1, 2020, when the provisions of the Act take effect. For employers whose offices are closed or whose employees are working from home, the notice can be mailed, emailed or posted electronically on the employer’s internal or external website.
