FSO Attorneys Named as Best Lawyers in America 2021 Edition

Farmer Scott Ozete Robinson & Schmitt LLP is pleased to announce four FSO attorneys have been recognized as Best Lawyers in America. Terry Farmer has been selected in two areas: Banking and Finance Law and Closely Held Companies and Family Business Law. Laura Scott is being recognized for her work in Closely Held Companies and Family Business Law. Andrew Ozete is being honored for his work in three areas: Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law, Business Organizations including LLC’s and Partnerships, and Bankruptcy Litigation. Terry Farmer’s practice is grounded in commercial, financial and corporate law, concentrating on business disputes and transactional work. His time is spent equally between the courtroom and the negotiating table. Terry’s 30 years of experience in law firm management and the experience he has gained as acting as general counsel to clients in the banking, telecommunication, manufacturing, construction, mining and theme park industries has given him the perspective and skills to approach clients’ problems as both legal issues and business problems.

Laura Scott works with clients interested in starting a new business venture, discussing common pitfalls and possible solutions. She helps clients manage risks when buying or selling a business, entering into a new contract, or protecting what they have worked hard to build. She assists business owners and managers with non-compete agreements, employment contracts and real estate deals. Laura also helps bankers and financial services professionals navigate the complexities of commercial loan transactions.

Andrew Ozete centers his practice on advising businesses, banking and creditors’ rights, including bankruptcy, State Court, and negotiated workout solutions. He represents businesses, financial institutions, trade creditors, and debtors in transactions, leases, litigation, business workouts, loan restructurings and Chapter 11 cases. He helps clients through the uncertain waters of the bankruptcy process and helps them maximize their returns. Andy advises institutional clients and small business owners and serves in general counsel capacity for various clients.

Jamie Dameron advises clients on transactions with environmental risks and liabilities and helps businesses manage environmental compliance for day-to-day operations. She supports clients through regulatory assessment, environmental audit assistance, penalty mitigation approaches, agency settlement negotiations and pollution prevention options. She seeks to help her clients turn compliance challenges into cost-effective best practices. For site cleanup liabilities, Jamie identifies a variety of funding and risk-minimizing options to move transactions forward. She also advocates for clients litigating complex environmental issues before administrative agencies and in state and federal court.
